This feature can be used to export specific fielded data for a set population of documents. The purpose of this guide is for reminder purposes. Any users attempting this for the first time should request a brief training session to go over the process. This feature is Not enabled by default, but will be activated by request.
The metadata export feature can be accessed via the mass action button on the table view. Before selecting this, be sure to isolate the documents you want, either with a search or by checking the boxes beside the desired rows.
If this ability is enabled for your account, you will see ‘Export’ on the right hand side of the menu. On the left, you can choose selected documents (checked), unselected, current query (search results), or the entire database.
After making the desired selection of documents, click Next. We recommend selecting ‘Include Field Headers’ as those will link easily back to the database. The delimited type will vary depending on your purpose. For overlays or to provide additional fielded information, use Dat. For excel, Tab delimited works well. Identify the fields you would like to export, and click Go.
The export process will continue, even with the window closed, so you may continue to work in the database while it runs. When it completes, you will see a small yellow arrow at the top right of your screen. Clicking this will allow you to download the exported file.
